Strong Finish.
In their final game of the season the Bruins outplayed the USC Trojans, earning a 4-2 victory. A solid
defensive effort by UCLA limited the Trojans to just 19 shots and with Dylan Ramos standing tall in net,
the USC offense was hardly a factor. Among the goal scorers for the Bruins was the unexpected, rookie
Brad Kay netted just his second goal of the season, and also the expected as Aaron Munoz banked his thirteenth
in off the goalie's face. "This wasn’t about one or two guys" said assistant captain Jay Boffa. "This was
the whole team stepping up." UCLA did not want this game to be decided by what senior Jefferson Sanka
termed "a lucky bounce". Sanka, who leads the team in points, added "We dominated them ... this was a great
way to finish our season."
The Bruins would like to thank all their fans and team partners for the great support and
encouragement this season.

Oh So Close.
UCLA hosted ASU for their final two home games of the season. Friday's game saw the Bruins fall 3-0. Both
teams received stellar goaltending. Bruins senior Travis Reeves made several spectacular saves to keep
the game close, but UCLA could not capitalize on their chances. In Saturday's game the Bruins struck first
with a goal from David Carlton. The Bruins led 1-0 until late in the 1st period when ASU tied it with a
controversial goal. The teams traded goals in the 2nd and entered the 3rd tied at 3-3. UCLA grabbed the
lead midway through the period, but could not hold it and regulation ended 4-4. Overtime settled nothing,
so the game would be decided by the dreaded shootout. UCLA could not find the back of the net, while
ASU scored on its first three shots, propelling them to the 5-4 win. The Bruins close out their conference
schedule with two games in Anaheim against USC next weekend.

of its own. The hard fought game featured several lead changes and some big hits. In the 3rd period the
Bruins were down 6-5, and even with their goalie pulled for the extra attacker, they could not score the
equalizer. The team now prepares to face #2 ranked ASU next weekend.
